new roomies.. cyclamen..

saturday's flower market is my favorite, here in this city.. i love walking through it when going to library. tens of different flowers in pots and in bouquets are sold there.. i have been thinking about buying cyclamens for few months, finally, today i bought them.. last year, i had two of them but, they died because i had watered them directly. when i learnt that they should be watered from the bottom, it was too late.. anyway, now i have two brand new cyclamens in front of the window of my room.. they are my new roomies ;)

kind-a-lunch, sometime ago..

don't know if anyone has realized that I am constantly eating on the same desk on my papers, luckily not on the same papers :P it becomes really boring sometimes to eat alone and to eat on the same place.

anyways, this is a picture of my lunch sometime ago, taken with the webcam of the laptop. poor me, still do not have a good camera. anyway, the soup is probably lentil soup or onion soup. i think it was onion soup. because i never made lentil soup here, my roommate did once, maybe it was lentil.. anyway.. it is a soup, and if anyone is interested in the recipe of a super-delicious and healthy onion soup, here i am! it is topped with chopped fresh mint by the way.. mmm my favorite.. next to it, there is a toast with soft white chese (in Turkish way) and mozarella.. i love the combination of the two.. low fat, not very salty, and not very dull.. ideal for me. and needless to say, the red things are sliced tomatoes :)

mmm.. i want onion soup!!

1 banana
some muesli (depending on your belly ;) )
2 spoons of crème fraiche
1 teaspoon of finely chopped (or grated) fresh ginger
1/2 cup of fresh orange juice

First mix crème fraiche, orange juice and ginger in the cup. After designing your plate as you want with fruits and muesli, pour the crème fraiche mix on it.  Mine is topped with mom-made jam and chocolate sprinkles.. You are free to design your own ;)

it worths trying other fresh or dryed fruits, like apples, grapes, raisins, dates..

winter tea

when i returned here after a long and warm holiday, i got cold. i did not want to use medicine, and i kept drinking mint tea with lemon and honey. one day my friend's mom suggested me this delicious tea, which is really effective against cold and flue..

1 apple randomly cut in to pieces.
4 glasses of water
to be boiled in a pan for 5 minutes,
then,
a piece of cinnamon root and
4-5 dried cloves
to be added,
after boiling them altogether 5 more minutes,
half a lemon to be cut in to two and added to the pan.
then, heat should be turned off,
now winter tea is ready :)

if your apple is sweet, you will have sweetened tea. otherwise you can add honey.

you don't have to be sick to try this, or it does not have to be winter.

handmade keychains for my bike ;)

this is made by me.. using a some waste-clothes and acrylic colors..

this clown is really happy to travel on my bike..

P.S.: the text on the paper is also my work, it is a piece from my thesis :)

noodles with vegetables and fish

Because it's sunday today, the library is closed at 6 pm. When I was home by bike, it was 6.16. All the time in the library I dreamt about making noodles when I am home. As soon as I entered the house, I put water into the boiler, I washed my hands and face and changed clothes. Then, I chose some vegetables from the fridge for noodle..

5-6 mushrooms
1 yellow paprika
1 onion
2 carrots
2 banana peppers
1 tomato

After putting some oil to a pan I added finely-sliced carrots, then not-finely-sliced onions, then mushrooms, paprika and banana peppers.. Those ones are sliced randomly, not thinly.. They are all cooked gently in the pan with the cover on. After 5-10 minutes I added sliced (peeled) tomato and some spices., like curry, chili pepper and nutmeg powder. When they are being cooked, I got a piece of frozen pollack (koolvis, in Dutch) from the freezer, buttered the toaster, chopped three pieces of garlic. I sprinkled chopped garlics and some black pepper on the fish and put it to the toaster.
By the way, we have a really funny toaster, it does not work with the electricity, it is something like a pan, so we put it on the heat. It is really handy.
Anyways, while the fish is being grilled, I put the boiled water in to another pan and put the noodles in. They are soaked in the water for 10 minutes, then I strained them.

Finally, I mixed those cooked vegetables with noodles, and put the grilled fish on it.. It was delicious!
Overall, it took me less than an hour to make everything ready.. I mean when vegetables are ready, it was 6.36pm. :)
I am really full now,
and happy..

now good luck to me with thesis writing..

PS: this picture is taken with the camera of my laptop, so the quality is low..
